Enjoy a Last Summer Fling!

9-23-last-summer-flingFall is officially here, but that doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to summer completely! There’s still time to enjoy a last summer fling before you snuggle into cozy fleeces and indoor activities. Take some time in the next few weeks to treat yourself to a final breath of summer – before it’s too late and we’re indoors for the season! While Labor Day may signal the end of summer to many people, most outdoor activities continue through till Columbus Day weekend – so get out there and enjoy a last summer fling!

Get Out on the Water
Many summer activities revolve around the water, so now is a great time to get out on the water to enjoy one last summer fling. Find someone with a boat, and get out on it! Or go take a ferry ride. Even find a nice dock to hang out – maybe do some fishing! (Yes, girls can fish! I do!) Cities located near water, or lakes that are tourist locations, often have boat tours you can take – get out on the water while there’s still some warm weather left!

Sneak in a Final Beach Day
Nothing says summer like the beach. Take a warm day coming up and hit the beach! If you’ve got personal days at work, now’s a great time to take a “mental health day” and recharge your batteries by relaxing one more day in the sun and surf. Beach weather ain’t over till it’s too cold to wear a swimsuit!

Take a Bicycle Tour
Getting out and putting around on a bicycle is a great way to spend a warm weather day relaxing. Go take a bicycle tour! Borrow someone’s bicycle. Find a cute little small town and rent a bike. Bicycling is becoming more and more popular these days – so treat yourself to a little outdoor playtime!

Go for a Hike
Hiking is a great outdoor activity you can do even when the temperatures start to drop a bit. In fact, I personally think hiking is best when temps are in the 60s and low 70s – you’re working up a little heat with the activity, but it’s not hot enough to turn you into a dripping, sweaty mess. So celebrate the temperate weather by getting outside and taking a hike! Bonus: trees will start changing in the next few weeks, so it’s a beautiful time to do it.

Shop for a Swimsuit!
Did you know that fall is one of the best times of year to shop for a swimsuit? This is the time of year when retailers start clearing out their stock of this year’s inventory, to make room for the new styles mid-winter. Remind yourself of warmer days, and prepare for your mid-winter tropical vacation, by shopping for a new swimsuit right now! Take advantage of the great deals to find a new style you’ll love – and surprise your special someone with a hot new look the next time you’re at a pool or on your mid-winter getaway.
