August, September and October are the most popular months (aside from June) to have a wedding. If you’ve got a lot of friends and are getting to that certain age, it may feel like you’re going to a new wedding every weekend for the next few months! Getting through wedding season may seem daunting, but with a little good pre-planning, you can take some of the expense out of wedding season by buying the perfect bra!
What’s the Perfect Bra for Attending Weddings?
When you attend a wedding as a guest, you’re still expected to make an effort to dress nice. When you’re a part of the wedding party, you’ll probably end up wearing a bridesmaid dress picked out by the bride. It may seem impossible to find a bra that works both for attending a wedding and for being a bridesmaid, but it’s not! All you need is a good convertible bra, and it will work with most of the dresses you’ll be wearing during this wedding season.
The key to finding the perfect bra for your wedding season is to plan ahead. If you’re in a round of weddings in the next few months, you’ve probably already been in to see your bridesmaid dresses and maybe even had a round of fittings by now. Pay close attention to the neckline of your dress to determine what type of bra you’ll need. Chances are good that you can wear a single bra with all of the bridesmaid dresses – as long as you select the right cut to work with the clothes you’ll be wearing.
We recommend a convertible bra because you can wear it strapless or with straps depending on what dress you’re wearing. For example, if you can pick out your own dress to attend as a guest, you may opt for something that will hide your straps so you can wear it with a regular bra. But if you’re a bridesmaid, you won’t have that choice, so it makes sense to have a convertible bra so you can wear it strapless with the necklines you just can’t control.
Our Convertible Bra Picks for the Late Summer/Fall Wedding Season
One of my personal favorite picks when it comes to convertible bras is the Dominique Seamless Molded Strapless Bra 3541. I bought a bunch of strapless and convertible bras for my wedding in April, and this was my favorite of the bunch. It fit well, didn’t slide down and created good cleavage. It’s affordable and good – kind of a no-brainer!
Another great pick is the Elila Microfiber Spacer Molded Strapless Bra 4820. The center gore is nice for women who want a bit of separation, and these cups provide a bit more coverage on top – a great choice for women who have loose breast tissue and need a little more shaping. Be aware of your dress selections, though, as the tops of these cups can show above some dress styles. Also, make sure you’re not wearing this bra too high or the cups will show. This style is great for fuller-figured and full-busted women.
Ultimately, you can get through the wedding season without spending a ton by finding the right convertible bra to wear with all of your wedding attire!
