New Year’s is the time when people think about their lives and what changes they might want to make in the coming year. One of the most popular New Year’s Resolutions is to get into better shape or lose weight – and it’s one we’ve all made at some point. Well, ladies – if this is on your list for 2012 (or even if it’s not!) get a head start on your New Year’s Resolution by LOOKING great with the right bra! It’s true; a well-fitted bra can take pounds off, improve your posture, help you look slimmer and highlight your curves in all the right places. If you’re ready to lose 10 pounds overnight (or look like it, anyway!) then it’s time to fit yourself for a new bra, and ring in 2012 looking great!
Check Out our Bra Fit Guidelines
Proper bra fit is something that every woman should enjoy, but many women wear poorly-fitted bras that do nothing for their figures, can cause neck and back discomfort and can make their breasts seem poorly distributed or saggy. The right fit is easy to determine with some measuring and bra fit know-how, but you may still need to try a few bras to get the right style and fit for your body.
But first up – measure! Follow our guidelines to find your measurement – and remember – the measurement isn’t straight up your band size. You’ll need to add the appropriate numbers to get your band size, and we’ve also got tips for verifying that you’ve got the measurement correct.
Once you’ve got your band size figured out, you can find your cup size. Our fitting page has a chart to help you determine your cup size in our most popular designers – remember to wear your best-fitting bra when you measure yourself to try to start out with a close measurement.
Tweak, Tweak, Tweak
Once you’ve done your measuring, you’ll want to experiment with a variety of bra styles near your measurement size. Every designer fits a little differently; you might find one designer fits great in the cup, but the band size doesn’t quite match your measurement. Or maybe it’ll fit in the band but the cup isn’t quite right for your breasts. If you need help with sizing, feel free to call – our experts will be happy to talk to you about sizing in a specific designer. And if you get a few bras in the wrong size, or the style doesn’t quite fit your body, take advantage of our generous 60 day return policy to swap them out for better-fitting bras.
Remember! A properly fitted bra sits straight across your back, fits flush against your rib cage, and the center gore should tack flush against your body. If your bra doesn’t fit in one of these ways happen – you’ve got the wrong bra size! The most common bra sizing error is women wearing a band size that is too large and a cup size that is too small. When you get the band size right, the band will support most of the weight of your bust.
